nations in the FIFA world rankings, climbing 12 places to 62.
Away wins against Norway and Slovenia thrust Scotland in the
right direction once again, after tumbling to an all-time low
during Berti Vogts’ troubled spell in charge. The disappointing 1-0
home defeat at the hands of Belarus prevented Scotland from heading
towards the top 50.

This October Scotland have another chance to climb up the ranks
taking on France as they kick off their Euro 2008
qualifying campaign at Hampden Park.
