Wisley Music Festival
Thursday 12 June 2008 - Saturday 14 June 2008
Introduction and prices
Enjoy this beautiful English country garden in its summer splendour with a legendary line-up at Wisley's picnic concerts. RHS Garden Wisley is without doubt one of the great gardens of the world, and perfect for music on a summer's evening.
An Evening with Lesley Garrett and The Royal
Philharmonic Concert Orchestra
Wisley welcomes the nation's most popular soprano, Lesley Garrett,
for a gala evening with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
The programme includes operatic and classical favourites and songs
from her latest album When I Fall in Love . As always there will be
time for a Last Night of the Proms finale to finish.
The Stars of the '80s
From the creators of the sensational Here & Now Tour - relive
the fab time we all had in the 80s and get ready to party as - for
one night only - four favourite pop acts perform a live show of
non-stop hits. Heaven Is A Place On Earth, I Get Weak, It's A
Mystery, Blue Hat For A Blue Day, Happy Birthday, I Could Be Happy
and many more.
The Counterfeit Stones and Buddy Holly and the
Cricketers
Last year Wisley went wild as the Counterfeit Stones strutted their
funky stuff, so they are back to headline Saturday night one more
time. Led by dynamic front man Nick Dagger, each member of this
band is a fantastic lookalike, not to mention first class musician.
Mick, Keith, Bryan, Bill and Charlie rock out the classics in this
number one tribute to the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the
world.
In March 1958 Buddy Holly took this country by storm with a 25-date whirlwind, whistlestop tour. Fifty years on, Buddy Holly and The Cricketers, who have delighted audiences across the globe for 16 sensational years, celebrate with a special golden anniversary show. This fast, furious and funny rock 'n' rollercoaster of a concert is guaranteed to have you singing along to the music and dancing on your picnic rugs to such timeless hits as That'll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, It Doesn't Matter Any More, Raining In My Heart, Heartbeat, Oh Boy and many, many more.
