European Football Championships
The 2008 European Football Championship, UEFA EURO 2008™, will be held jointly in Austria and Switzerland and will be the largest sporting event ever held in those countries. The Finals themselves will begin on 7 June 2008, but the road to Basle, where the opening match will be played, is a long one and qualifying matches will begin from Autumn 2006.
England take on Andorra, FYR Macedonia, Estonia, Israel, Russia and Croatia. Wales will play San Marino, Cyprus, Slovakia, Germany, Czech Republic and the Republic of Ireland. Whilst Scotland will face the Faroe Islands, Georgia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Italy and France in an equally tough group.
